Racingline Magnetic Sump Plug ( Metal Oil Sump)

Racingline Magnetic Sump Plug – VWR180000

The Racingline Magnetic Sump Plug is a small but worthwhile upgrade that helps protect your engine from the inside out. It replaces your standard oil drain plug and uses a strong internal magnet to catch tiny ferrous (iron-based) metal particles that build up in your engine oil over time.

As your engine runs, normal wear produces microscopic metal debris. These particles circulate with the oil and can cause further wear on internal components. A magnetic sump plug pulls these particles out of circulation, holding them safely at the bottom of the sump until your next oil service, when they are removed along with the old oil.

Why Fit a Magnetic Sump Plug?

• Captures ferrous debris before it can circulate and cause additional engine wear
• Billet construction for strength and a clean, precise finish
• Strong neodymium-style magnet for reliable particle collection
• Direct replacement for the factory drain plug, fitted during a routine oil change
• Useful diagnostic tool – excessive metal build-up at oil change time can be an early warning of internal wear

The harder you work your engine, whether on track days, fast road driving, or with a tuned setup, the more value you’ll get from this simple piece of preventative protection.

Installation

Fitting is straightforward and is best done at your next scheduled oil change. Drain the oil as normal, remove the factory drain plug, and fit the Racingline magnetic plug in its place using a fresh sealing washer. Torque to the manufacturer’s specification for your vehicle.

Important Fitment Notice

This sump plug is suitable for metal, steel, and alloy oil sumps only. It must not be fitted to vehicles equipped with a plastic sump, as the thread design and sealing requirements differ.

The Racingline Magnetic Sump Plug suits a wide range of popular VW Group vehicles fitted with a metal sump, including many VW, Audi, SEAT, Skoda, and Cupra models. Please use the vehicle lookup tool or check the Vehicle Fitment tab to confirm compatibility with your specific car.
