Racingline Magnetic Drain/Fill Plug Set for Haldex (Gen.5)

Racingline Magnetic Drain/Fill Plug Set for Haldex (Gen.5) – VWR180002

Protect your Haldex unit from the inside out with the Racingline Magnetic Drain and Fill Plug Set. This straightforward upgrade replaces your standard plugs with magnetic versions that capture the tiny metal particles produced by normal wear, helping to keep your Haldex oil cleaner and your drivetrain healthier for longer.

The Haldex system is the clever coupling that sends power to the rear wheels on many Volkswagen Group 4MOTION, Quattro and 4Motion-equipped models. Like any oil-bathed component, it generates microscopic ferrous (iron-based) debris over time. Left circulating in the oil, these particles cause further wear. Standard factory plugs do nothing to stop this. Racingline’s plugs do.

What this upgrade does

Both the drain plug and the fill plug are fitted with strong magnets. As Haldex oil moves around the system, those magnets attract and hold ferrous particles, removing them from circulation. At your next Haldex service, you simply remove the plugs, wipe off the trapped debris, refit and refill. It’s a small change that delivers a meaningful improvement in oil cleanliness between services.

• Dual magnetic protection on both the drain and fill plugs for complete coverage
• CNC-machined from aerospace-grade 6061 billet aluminium
• Gloss black anodised finish for corrosion resistance and a clean look
• Direct replacement for the factory plugs – no modifications required
• Ideal to fit alongside a Haldex oil and filter service

Fitment

Designed specifically for vehicles fitted with the Gen.5 Haldex system, as found on a wide range of transverse-engined VW Group 4MOTION/Quattro models including popular MQB platform cars such as the Golf R Mk7/Mk7.5, S3 8V, TT/TTS Mk3, Cupra/Leon and Tiguan, among others.

Haldex generations vary between models and years, so please use the vehicle lookup on the Racingline Shop or check the Vehicle Fitment tab to confirm this set is correct for your car before ordering.

When to fit

The easiest time to install these plugs is during a Haldex oil service, when the system is already drained. We recommend inspecting and cleaning the magnets at every subsequent service interval – you may be surprised how much they collect, particularly in the first few services on a higher-mileage car.

A simple, sensible piece of preventative maintenance that helps your Haldex unit deliver reliable four-wheel drive performance for many miles to come.

Applications

Please note, customers are wholly responsible for checking fitment for their vehicle.
